VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR/MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Volunteer Coordinator/ Manager provides guidance and work direction for the ACTS volunteers. He/she works respectfully, courteously, and in harmony with the public, donors, and volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator/Manager provides oversight of receiving and sorting store merchandise. He/She must demonstrate commitment and dedication to the ACTS Mission as a whole, always having what is best for the ACTS as the main objective. The Volunteer Coordinator/ Manager reports directly to the governing board and will prioritize activities and develop a successful operation of the store using volunteers.
Typical Hours of the Volunteer Coordinator/Manager will be:
Sunday: Off
Monday: Off
Tuesday: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Wednesday: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Thursday: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Friday: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
The store hours will be: Wednesday through Saturday 10-2.
The Volunteer Coordinator/ Manager will be on duty ALL days that the store is open with the Tuesday hours being used to sort and put items on the floor. Appropriate attire is required. This is a non-smoking facility and smoking/vaping is not permitted. ACTS is an equal opportunity employer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Dedicated to the Mission, good communication skills, self-starter, well organized, but flexible; ability to work with people of all ages and from all walks of life; excellent motivator; outgoing, and respectful. Excellent customer service skills, basic computer and software skills, and the ability to lift and carry moderate weight objects as required for receiving, setup and display of Thrift Store items are also requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or GED (minimum)
• Associate’s Degree in management (preferred)
• Prior experience in retail (preferred).
• Prior experience working in management (preferred).
